Really Basic stuff. I also bought another dumbbell book by them. It was completely of no use as the other books I bought Dumbbell Training for Strength And Fitness by Matt Brzycki and Fred Fornicola and Men's Health Ultimate Dumbbell Guide were much better. I recommend getting those two books and skipping these posters. Unless you really really need posters for some reason.

"Very Informative but pictures and writing are pretty small" 2009-05-16
By Ray (Florida)
The poster pack comes with 4 laminated posters. They show the following information:

Poster 1 = Body Diagrams (tells you what exercises work out what part of the body, shows you different routines for firming & toning up or for increasing muscle size) and tells you how often you need to work out each week to achieve each goal.

Poster 2 = Exercises for the chest and shoulders

Poster 3 = Exercises for the back, biceps, and triceps

Poster 4 = Exercises for the forearms, legs, calves, and abs.

Each poster has 9 boxes of exercises on it with a picture and description on it. I would say that the information is very useful if your a beginner or intermediate but the size of the letters is about the same as hand written letters, try looking at letters the size of hand writing while standing or sitting on a bench 6-8 feet away

I would highly recommend this to any beginner/intermediate weight lifter who is trying to make their own home gym with very limited space, the best way to go is dumbbells and a bench instead of one of those huge all in one machines. I only wish the writing on it was bigger so I could give it five stars.

The description listed above says you change in 2.5 lb increments. My Reebok Speed Pac 25 lb Adjustable Single Dumbbell is only changeable in 5 lb increments. It starts at 5 lbs and goes up to 25 lbs in only 5 lb increments. Model # RSAW120508 from Target. I bought 2 to make a set. So far they feel great and the price is right.

"Good Price - Poor Quality Plastic - INJURY POSSIBLE!" 2009-03-31
By Jeff (Boston, MA)
I used a pair of the 25 lb. Speed Pack weights for approx. 1 hour/week for 2 years. The other reviews are accurate. They do clank, but that may not be a bother for you. They do require a bit of wiggling to get the right amount of plates locked, but I felt this was fine given they were so much cheaper than alternatives like Bowflex and PowerBlock. No real complaints until the plastic piece that guides the plates shattered while I was doing a raised shoulder exercise. About 10 pounds of metal crashed on my knee cap. Reebok will not back these up as they are actually made by Icon Fitness Equipment. Icon will not refund due to length of time since purchase and there are no replacement parts. They are priced low, so you may be ok with them. Just don't raise them over your head!

 "Plastic Piece Broke" 2009-02-26
By Mel (Ohio)
I use this product for my home workouts that I do 3 days a week. I tend to use the 10 pound and 15 pound plates a lot so I do a lot of switching back and forth. About 2 weeks into using this product I went to pick up the weights and the plastic piece on the hand weight that guides the plates and keeps the plates separated, broke. Dissappointing after having the weights only 2 weeks. I am not sure why the plastic piece broke but it is not fixable. It doesn't seem to affect the use of the product, however the plates hit together and I am not sure what long term damage that may cause.

 "Middle of the Road" 2009-01-17
By M. Ward (Steep Falls, ME)
I ordered these weights for a weight training program that I am doing. I opted for these because the price of Selectechs was so very much higher. As one reviewer mentioned, they do 'clank' but that doesn't bother me. I have a issue with switching from one weight poundage to another with ease. The lever seems to 'stick' and not move very freely. Also, when picking up the weights from the racks, sometimes the remaining weights shift and you have to move them back to their proper position. I am not displeased with the weights but would recommend to save your pennies for the set that is more expensive. If this is what you have to spend, these aren't bad for the price.

I do like that they have their own holding rack. That comes in handy. And it is included and not a seperate purchase. I also like that you can select increments in 2.5 pounds and that both ends of a dumbell don't have to have the same weights.

So overall, they'll do. Not estatic, not disgruntled. Just middle of the road.

"Not Bad, Not the Best" 2008-07-16
By M. DaFonseca
I bought this after I started a weight loss regimen and wanted to incorporate some weight lifting. For the price, I can't complain but I want to make sure others out there know what I found out.

1) Sometimes you need to jiggle the knob to get it to lock for a weight.

2) The weights are good but if you don't hold it perfectly still and with proper form, they tend to clank. (which is a problem for me because I ususally get my workouts in during the early morning or late at night).

I am happy I bought these but wish there were a way to stop the clanking which is my biggest gripe with it. All in all, if you can't afford the PowerBlock or the BowFlex, this isn't a bad deal.

 "Description misleading" 2010-02-01
By J. Brennan (Newtown, PA, US)
The description of these weights is misleading. The description leads you to believe that you are getting 2-25lb weights that are adjustable up to 25lbs. However, each dumbbell only goes up to 12.5 lbs for a TOTAL (with both dumbbells) of 25lbs. Therefore, each arm is lifting 12.5 lbs. This is misleading.

"Quality Product for those who don't need much weight" 2009-10-07
By JD Photography
My girlfriend has been using the Reebok adjustables for about 2 months now. She still loves them as they serve their purpose:

1) Quick adjustments to select desired weight

2) The plates lock in nicely and have NEVER failed or dropped while in use.

3) Comes with nice holder case that allows you to identify the amount of weight you would like to use. The case also secures the dumbbells and allows you to easily place the weights back in storage room or closet when not in use.

The only downfall is you max out at 12.5lbs for each dumbbell. But, plenty enough for most woman who are just toning.

 "Very dangerous.." 2009-09-05
By ShopSherpa (Minneapolis, MN)
This product is very dangerous. Mine broke off while I was using it and destroyed my wooden floor. It could have been worse. It could have hit someone. The plastic which connects the weights to the strut is unable to sustain the torque associated with lifting it in a normal curling motion -- which is indeed how dumbbells are supposed to be used. Buy it at your own risk, the risk of your furniture and household fixtures, and the risk of your loved ones. Be very careful with this product. I returned mine and bought something else.

"Very Practicle & Cheap What You Get" 2009-08-16

I bought mine from Target after looking at the ridiculous price of Targets' individual weights: $10-20/each! I wasn't sure if I was going to keep them but decided to buy them and give them a try: $70 is a lot to me. NOW I LOVE THEM!!!

PROS: cheaper than individual weights, takes up no space at all, don't need a special stand for them

CONS: Umm... not as cute looking and doesn't have colors :P
